2011 "Racing To Stop Hunger" Food Drive


Tom Klauer Motor Sports and Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, Portola Sub Station in conjunction with the Portola Railroad Days Committee will be sponsoring a food drive with all donations and food items collected being donated to the Portola Food Bank. 

Tom Klauer Motor Sports will be sending several original Hendrick Motor Sports cars that competed in the 2007 NASCAR race series.  Some of the cars are Kyle Busch’s #5 Kellogg’s car, Jeff Gordon’s #24 Dupont car, Casey Mear’s #25 National Guard car and Jimmie Johnson’s #48 Lowe’s car.


Tom Klauer Motor Sports team is sponsored by Pick and Pull and their team motto is, “Racing to stop hunger.”  They are donating four grandstand tickets for a race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma in October.  Raffle Tickets for a chance to will all four will be available during the Railroad day’s event.  Another four pit pass tickets will be donated as well.  These tickets will be sold at a silent auction in two sets of two.  This will be open until September and the two highest bidders will be notified of their win.  Auction sheets will be available at the Railroad day’s festivities, and at stores in the Portola area.  Auction sheets will be put out during the Railroad Days festivities.
